There are travel agencies in Quito, the capital of Ecuador,which run tours into the Amazon. The Ecuadorians who run these agenciesare familiar with the area and already have canoes and tour guides, so theywould be ready to bring tourists to your community.
But Agustín suggests turning to an international conservationorganization instead. Such an organization would not be as concerned withmaking a profit as would a travel agency. Conservationists would run theprogram so it helped preserve the rainforest.
