Conquistadors were Spanish soldiers who explored and conqueredLatin America over 400 years ago. Conquistadors like Francisco de Orellanawore long clothing and heavy armor. They explored hot places like the Amazonin search of gold and silver to take back to the King of Spain. They hadlittle interest in living there. Most either died on their explorationsor returned to Spain to retire.
